Great Walks, Stunning Scenery, Fine Company and more!

Welcome to the Drovers' Tryst Walking Festival - from the 6th to 13th October 2012

Crieff & Strathearn Drovers' Tryst annually celebrates the life, work and play of the Supported by Perth & Kinross Countryside Trustpeople who made Crieff the cattle-droving crossroads of Scotland in the 1700s. The modern day Tryst is run by volunteers and built around a programme of guided walks in the stunning scenery and autumn colours of Strathearn & surrounding areas of Perthshire. The walks vary in difficulty but all are enriched by wildlife, plants, trees, history and the company of like-minded people.

Complementing the walks is a series of enjoyable evening social events, with music, drama, film and dancing! The Tryst also embraces a mountain bike event, and there is great food and drink to be enjoyed in local restaurants and cafes, a wide choice of places to stay and many other interesting attractions.
And a Photography Competition Tryst Photo Competitiontoo!

The 2012 festival programme is now open for bookings

Walks

Guided walks are the core of the festival, ranging from themed easy walks to high level walks in the hills up to an hour away from Crieff.

This year more than 35 walks will offer something to suit all interests and abilities!

Mountain Biking

An excellent MTB event gives an opportunity for riders of all levels to take part.

The Hairy Coo has a trio of races on Saturday 13th October on a network of handmade trails at Comrie Croft.

Social Events

An exciting programme of social activities, with something each day to entertain you, including the following:

Live music, songs, storytelling, ceilidh, talks, mountain film and pub quiz, to name just a few.

Other Activities

While you are in Strathearn, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy some of the many other things to do.

And that includes not just outdoors but also relaxing into the pleasures of eating, drinking, shopping and visiting the local attractions!
