Great Walks, Stunning Scenery, Fine Company and more!

Welcome to the Drovers' Tryst Walking Festival - from the 6th to 13th October 2012

Crieff & Strathearn Drovers' Tryst annually celebrates the life, work and play of the Supported by Perth & Kinross Countryside Trustpeople who made Crieff the cattle-droving crossroads of Scotland in the 1700s. The modern day Tryst is run by volunteers and built around a programme of guided walks in the stunning scenery and autumn colours of Strathearn & surrounding areas of Perthshire. The walks vary in difficulty but all are enriched by wildlife, plants, trees, history and the company of like-minded people.

Complementing the walks is a series of enjoyable evening social events, with music, drama, film and dancing! The Tryst also embraces two mountain bike events, and there is great food and drink to be enjoyed in local restaurants and cafes, a wide choice of places to stay and many other interesting attractions.
And a photography competition too!

The 2011 Tryst festival is now over, but the walks and events from 2011 will remain on the site until the 2012 programme is ready.

Walks

Guided walks are the core of the festival, ranging from themed easy walks to high level walks in the hills up to an hour away from Crieff.

This year more than 30 walks will offer something to suit all interests and abilities!

Mountain Biking

Two excellent MTB events give an opportunity for riders of all levels to take part.

The Hairy Coo has a trio of races on Saturday 8th October. The St Fillans MTB Challenge is over 20 or 11 miles on Sunday 9th.

Social Events

An exciting programme of social activities, with something every day to entertain you, including the following:

Pipe Bands, Crieff Country Market, live music, ceilidh, mountain film, pub quiz, to name just a few.

Other Activities

While you are in Strathearn, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy some of the many other things to do.

And that includes not just outdoors but also relaxing into the pleasures of eating, drinking, shopping and visiting the local attractions!
