Children -children are welcome on many Tryst walks but must be accompanied by a responsible adult and be capable of completing the walk. Minimum age for Medium walks is 12 yr and minimum for Hard and Extra Hard is 16 yr. There is no administrative charge for children/young people under 16 but if the walk uses a minibus a transport charge will apply.

RUMOURS OF ROMANS


Monday 11th October - Easy

Did the Romans settle in Upper Strathearn?  What is the history of the land beneath our feet?  This walk, suitable for the whole family, will explore a beautiful but little known area of Upper Strathearn in search of the stories behind today’s landscape.  Join Andrew Donaldson, who manages the popular Comrie Croft, and unravel some of these intriguing mysteries.

THE MAAM ROAD - COMRIE TO ST FILLANS


Monday 11th October - Medium

A delightful walk through varied countryside on largely well maintained paths and forest tracks.  There are some magnificent views of Strathearn and Loch Earn and an excellent chance of seeing Red Deer.  Leaving Comrie the route heads up through the Dunira Estate and Glen Boltachan to Loch Boltachan. There is then a fairly steep descent to St. Fillans

LOCHS AND GLENS - NEWTONBRIDGE TO AMULREE VIA AUCHNAFREE


Monday 11th October - hard

A long distance walk with many good viewpoints, much of historical interest, and plenty of opportunities to see wildlife.  The track through Glen Almond passes chambered cairns, an ancient burial ground, and stone circles.  At Auchnafree a narrow path ascends into Glen Lochan and passes a series of small lochans before reaching the head of the Glen.  There is an easy descent to Lochan a’ Mhuilinn and then a minor road to Amulree Village Hall

THE CAIRN MAIRG GROUP


Monday 11th October - extra hard

This is a horseshoe-shaped walk situated on the north side of the beautiful Glen Lyon between Glen Lyon and Loch Rannoch.  It is an unusual opportunity to traverse four Munros in one walk – Carn Gorm, Meall Garbh, Carn Mairg and Creg Mhor.  It is a long walk with some steep ascents and descents.
