RED KITES AT ARGATY

RED KITES AT ARGATY

Daily

Situated near the village of Doune, the farm at Argaty has become the spiritual home of the Central Scotland red kite population.   These sociable raptors, re-introduced to the area over the last 20 years, gathered on the farm, attracting bird watchers from far and wide and to allow people to see and learn about these birds, the  idea of the Argaty project was born.

A pupose built hide offers great close-up views of the kites coming down to the daily feed while the project and exhibition centre is close by.   Facilities include car parking and toilets.  There is a small fee to visit the farm, which helps cover the cost of providing these facilities.

Feeding times during Drovers' Tryst week is 2.30 pm.

Location: Off the A820 Dunblane-Callander road, just south of Doune.  Follow the brown tourist board signs.

Cost: Adults £4, Child £2, Family £10.
