General Wade’s Military Roads – Crieff to Aberfeldy
A talk by Pitlochry historian Colin Liddell at 7.30pm at The Innerpeffray Library. Light refreshments will be served from 7.00pm.

The talk is part of the Friends of Innerpeffray Library’s (FOIL’s) 2010 programme. It will be held in the schoolroom of the delightful Innerpeffray Library, situated on the B8062, 4 miles to the south-east of Crieff.


Colin Liddell will also be leading a Drovers' Tryst walk along part of General Wade’s Military Road to the north of Crieff during Wednesday 13th October.


 

 



Tickets are £7 and available at the door.

RAMBLING AND ROVING EXHIBITION


An exhibition of ramblers and rovers at Innerpeffray Library

Innerpeffray Library is well worth a visit. This is the oldest free public lending library in Scotland and was already well established when Crieff Tryst was in its heyday. It has strong associations with the Scottish Enlightenment and is situated on the B8062, 4 miles to the south-east of Crieff

The Drovers Exhibition is a permanent exhibition about the drovers at the Crieff Visitor Centre, Muthill Road.

WILD ROVERS EXHIBITION


The National Galleries of Scotland Outreach Team and Perth and Kinross Council will re-present the Wild Rovers: Parallel Lives in Crieff exhibition in Strathearn Community Campus and Library.This exhibition includes a video of the community Stampede, photographs, flags, masks and banners created by local residents and High School students, that use motifs from Crieff’s droving past to point to a new future for the town represented by the new Campus.
Added to the exhibition will be a set of landscape paintings and drawings created by students in the hills north of Crieff. This workshop will be part of the High School’s recreated ‘drove‘ from Skye to Crieff in June 2010.
